I let my kids wear whatever they want
And I DGAF what other people think.
Our kids are 7, 4, and 2. Clothing is 100% optional at our house at all times. When our kids do decide to get dressed, sometimes it isn’t in the most productive or acceptable way. And you know what? I really don’t care.
There are times, when the clothing our kids wear needs to match the situation we are going to be in. Take for instance church. Our girls wear dresses and our boy dons a tie and a button up shirt each Sunday. If we venture to town (this doesn’t happen often), I usually ask that they wear something that is clean and presentable, though I don’t make a big deal out of whatever they choose to wear.
Other than that though, I honestly don’t care what my kids wear.
Because we homeschool our kids we have a little more leeway when it comes to clothing than most public school attendees do.
My son has a favorite lion costume that he wears nearly everyday, everywhere he goes. It has a fuzzy hood and I think he loves how warm it feels against his soft skin.
My first daughter loves to become any kind of superhero, though her favorites tend to be Catboy and Iron Man. After she puts on the costume she flies around our house, making cool noises, and even cooler moves.
